Hal Gill has broad experience in commercial real estate, representing both developers and lending institutions. Hal’s developer practice is presently concentrated in two areas: mixed-use properties and commercial condominium developments. He has extensive experience in drafting declarations for mixed-use developments, and has actively participated in the planning, operation and revitalization of such developments. In addition to representation of developers of office condominiums and residential communities, he has developed an active hospitality practice. Hal has long been active in transactional work for hotel owners and developers, including the conversion of conventional hotels into condominiums. Hal also regularly represents local and national lending institutions in connection with a variety of real estate-secured loan transactions throughout the United States.
His representative transactions include the acquisition and development of Brookside, a 200-acre Class A office/mixed use development in Alpharetta, Georgia; acquisition and development of Maple Street Commons, a 120-acre mixed-use development in Carrollton, Georgia; acquisitions of Holiday Inn Express and Marriott Residence Inn in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and representation during conversion to hotel-condominiums; and assemblage of 37 properties for mixed-use development near the Kia automobile manufacturing plant in Troup County, Georgia.
Hal is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association and the International Council of Shopping Centers; he is also active in a variety of civic, charitable and religious causes. |
